The eagle flies with the dove...

And if you can't be with the one you love,
Honey, love the one you're with.

Heard this on American Idol the other night, what a rockin' tune.

I also thought I'd treat you to the classic "Funky Cold Medina" by Ton Loc, and "Taking it to the Streets" by the Doobs. You're welcome.

Had a terrific Valentine's Day and John said "Home" and "Mail" for the first time today. He also clearly said "Book", "Beluga", and "Seek" (part of Hide and Seek).

Winter is long, but fun!

Hey there! John Brand here for another exciting installment of "What Has John Been Up To?"
Well first we'll start with walking and talking. I just talk about everything now! My list of vocabulary words is huge and I can even say some of my letters and most of my numbers! I turned fourteen months old yesterday, and I can say the letters G, P, Z and the numbers 2, 3, 6, 8, and 10! I can sing some songs like "Ring around the rosies", which for some reason is my daycare provider's favorite baby song! I can tell you pretty much whatever is on my mind and I can say Mommy and Daddy's real names now! When I eat I can eat solid foods like sandwiches. I love to pull em apart and only half of it makes it into my mouth, but that's probably 25% better than a month ago, so I'm a happy guy!

On the activity front, we've been doing a lot of fun stuff at daycare and Mommy and Daddy took me out to the mall yesterday for a while and then today we went out for a nice long sledding adventure! Here's some pictures, isn't my Mommy pretty!

Well, I'm still just a little bubbie, so I'll be toddling off to bed now, but hey, the whole world is just around the corner for me, stay tuned!

Return to Azeroth

Well, the cat's out of the bag, I'm playing World of Warcraft again and I was able to pick up with Gomur right where I left off one year ago. I'm happy to say that since I've been away Blizzard has evened the game out considerably, making it easier and somewhat less time-consuming to play for an upper-level character. Happily, even though my guild had thrown me out (bastards!) I found a new guild almost immediately of casual 30-something players who are there for fun and not to turn it into a gigantic nerdo pissing contest.

On the other hand, the game is still just as fun as always, and this time around I've remembered to snap a screenshot occasionally. I was sort of at a loss for the Xbox Live account expiring and rather than pony up $60 in a relatively tight money month, I figured I'd spend the $15 to re-activate WoW, and if I was busy at night when I got home I could still play it at work on my lunch break. Of course Beth will tell you there have been a couple of 3AM nights in the last couple of weeks, but overall I've managed to not let my obsession with this game socially cripple me like it did last time. In an effort to find balance, I've been forcing myself to do chores around the house compulsively for the last few weeks. Laundry, dishes, vacuuming, making the bed nearly every day... etc. It's working so far, and I'm sure you can imagine my happiness at being able to play my favorite video game of all time.
